Ishikawa Foundation will launch the “A & A” project in which contemporary artists and architects work in collaboration to create a single architectural work in Okayama. As its first installment we are pleased to announce the opening the first two houses: “A&A Liam Fuji, The Manabe Equation House” and “A&A Jonathan Hasegawa”.
“A&A” is a project in which pairs of internationally acclaimed contemporary artists and Japanese architects work together to create extraordinary new houses in and around the historical/cultural zones of Okayama City. Each building is an individual lodging, and more locations are scheduled for construction over the next 20 years.
The A&A project has Taro Nasu (Owner of TARO NASU) as Project Director, architect Jun Aoki (Jun Aoki & Assoiciates) as Advisior, and Yasuharu Ishikawa (President of Ishikawa Foundation) as producer. Through the rich spatial experiences offered, the project seeks to promote the city as an attractive place to stay and enjoy engagement with various forms of art.
