a&c
"A&C," short for "Art & City," is an art event where works of contemporary art are exhibited free of charge for a long period at public spaces including a cinema, art museums, and a shrine in an area centered around a cultural zone in the city of Okayama. For further details, please see the map below.
*This project is implemented as a pre-event for the Okayama Art Summit 2019.

Okayama Art Summit is a contemporary art exhibition staged throughout Okayama city that facilitates encounters with art in an everyday context. It aims to cultivate new values and inspire the imagination of children and adults alike as well as to contribute in revitalizing the city and building its brand.

IMAGINEERING
Imagineering OKAYAMA ART PROJECT was an exhibition of Yasuharu Ishikawa’s collection that took place across Okayama city. It was held from November 2 through December 25, 2014 as part of the city’s experiment to make its historical areas more pedestrian friendly.

The Okayama Award was established with the mission to revive the city of Okayama, as well as to foster young business owners in the area. Grants are presented to outstanding Okayama-based individuals age 49 and under from a broad range of fields.

Summer in JAPAN Okayama* is a summer school that offers practical English-language courses taught by students of Harvard University. Aimed at nurturing global talent in Okayama, the program offers an opportunity to be exposed to an international setting.
* Summer In Japan is a program which was started from 2013 by the organization of the same name in Oita Prefecture. The Ishikawa Foundation offers its own version of the program.
